Indoor digital signage has been around for a while, but what is it? It's fairly new in Western North Carolina and consumers and business owners are all wondering exactly "what is it?" The industry calls it "Digital Out of Home" (DOoH).
Digital signage consists of a hi-def television, with a digital signage player connected to show all kinds of content, including images, videos, RSS feeds, weather, news, sports, and more. It can be as simple as a computer with PowerPoint running a show, to an advanced system that pulls updated content from the Internet. It is popular with retail stores, hotels, retaurants, churches, and more.
At Digtial Connect Media, digital signage means a 42" LCD TV with our custom signage player system that connects wired or wirelessly to the Internet to pull content that is loaded from the web. Our robust software updates automatically as content is added from anywhere in the world. We train the sign host to edit the content as they see fit, or have us make changes each month. We also provide content that changes multiple times a day, including weather, sports images with captions, news images with captions, healthy tips, trivia, celebrity news, and more, all part of the monthly subscription.
The signs can be set to turn on and off automatically on a schedule - they even turn back on after a power outage.
There are two service types we are offering initially:
1. Stand alone service. A Digital sign is installed in your lobby or back of house where you maintain all the content. This is perfect for retail or churches/schools for posting announcements, sale items, point of purchase advertising, etc. We train you how to maintain the content or we can change once a month for you. The equipment is $900.00 (includes standard installation) and the monthly fee is $100. We can also retrofit an exisiting TV and computer to work together for your digital sign.
2. Advertising Network. We have started placing digital signs into businesses across Western North Carolina that show advertising in two areas of the screen. Each network consists of 9-12 signs in high-traffic locations, leading to over 15,000 impressions per month for each advertiser. Businesses may purchase a 20-second spot in the rotation in the network, a year at a time. Advertising starts at only $300 annually. The sign host has 1/3 of the screen to use exclusively for the business to post information and specials, while the rest of the screens show advertising, sports, news, and trivia. Roting the ads within eye-catching content ensures viewers see your ad. We are always accepting new sign hosts for a reduced price on equipment.
